PAPER PRODUCTS
Newspaper Includes inserts and ads that come with the paper, unprinted newsprint, and “groundwood  paper (has visible fiber flecks, typical of recycled paper products). Keep separate from magazines and office paper.
Glossy paper Magazines and catalogues Keep separate from newspaper and office paper.
Office paper Includes all junk mail, white and colored computer, ledger, tablet, copy paper, and envelopes No tissue paper, napkins, food wrappers, etc.
Corrugated Cardboard Boxes must be open at seams, and folded flat. No waxed boxes
Brown paper bags/non-corrugated cardboard Brown and gray colors like cereal boxes, tablet paper backs and cardboard egg cartons. Flatten and stack in a brown paper bag. NO white cardboard like butter boxes and frozen food boxes.
Phone books   Keep separate from other paper products.
OTHER RECYCLABLE ITEMS
Aluminum
cans, food trays, clean aluminum foil.
Place in container or bag within container (do not tie bags).
MAY CRUSH
No heavily soiled aluminum foil. Keep separate from steel/tin cans.
Steel/tin cans Rinse food cans and place in container or bag within container. Include metal lids from glass bottles and jars. NO spray cans, paint cans, coat hangers. Keep separate from aluminum cans!
Plastic:
bottles only (neck is smaller than the base), types 1 (PET and PETE) and 2 (HDPE, opaque only), displaying one of the following labels on the bottom:
Remove lids, rinse well, and separate by type as follows: 1) Type 1: clear plastic such as pop bottles, 2) Type 2: opaque plastic such as milk jugs.
PLEASE SEPARATE MILK JUG AND POP BOTTLE PLASTICS
NO bags, tubs, buckets, etc. NO colored type 2 plastic (including white).

This means no solid colored plastic containers such as yogurt, detergent bottles, lids, or any solid colored plastic

Styrofoam packing “peanuts  Place in a clean plastic bag.
Tie top of bag securely!
NO Styrofoam food trays or other Styrofoam materials. Peanuts must be clean and reusable.
