MVR NEWSLETTER / FALL 2007

(featuring all good news fit for recycling)

The good news is that we started recycling programs in 17 schools through our RITS (Recycling In The Schools) program. We only have a few more to go. Thanks to our good community sponsors, schools that did not have recycling programs, now have recycling bins, receive in-service presentations, and get regular bi-monthly pickups. That translates into more people recycling, more valuable commodities saved from the landfill, and more energy and natural resources conserved. We still hope to get help from individual contributors for help with program administration expenses, advertising, fundraising, and presentations. Thank you for all of your support and help.

Home Resource and The Missoula Federal Credit Union have collaborated to re-use glass in a parking lot. This demonstration project will use the same glass crusher used at MUDD’s Earth Day celebration to grind glass into sand, and then mix with cement.
